Welcome to our little corner of the world.

We are so grateful to celebrate this chapter with the people we love most, and we cannot wait to welcome you to Coron.

Our families come from the Philippines and from India — two countries, two languages, two entirely different ways of making a noise about love. On a beach in Palawan, as the sun goes down, they finally meet.

Our story

An ocean crossed for one reason, and another found on the far side.

Arbie, a dermatologist in the Philippines, had built a career and a life she already loved. Then a fellowship took her to Canada: halfway around the world, into a winter she had no way to prepare for, and away from everything familiar.

Manny was already there. Neither of us went looking for this. Now we are asking you to cross one too — to the Philippines, where her story began, for the day ours properly starts.

Our traditions

Two families, two countries, and customs made ours.

Milni

Our families greet one another in the Punjabi tradition, marking the moment two families formally become one.

The Cord · Yugal

Our cord sponsors drape an infinity-shaped cord over our shoulders, binding two lives into one.

Sand Ceremony

Both sets of parents and then the two of us pour coloured sand into one vessel.

Henna

Everyone is welcome to have a design done before the welcome dinner.

Joota Chupai

The bride’s sisters hide the groom’s shoes; negotiations are public and spirited.

Sayaw ng Pera

Guests may dance with us and pin a bill as a wish for prosperity. Nobody is expected to.

Fire Dancing

Professional performers bring the evening alive on the sand. Please stay behind the marked line.

Tinikling

Performers step between bamboo poles on the beat, then invite a few brave guests to try.

Attire & weather

Beach Formal / Tropical Formal

Indian, Filipino and Western formal wear are all equally welcome. Light, breathable fabrics and shoes that work on sand are best — wedges, flats, or bare feet all work.

Soft Peach#F6C9A8
Dusty Blush#D3A29C
Coastal Sand#DCC8A8

Expect around 32°C (90°F), high humidity and sun. Bring a hat, insect repellent, a light evening layer and an adapter if needed. Sunscreen is on us.

Flights

Fly to Busuanga Airport (USU), usually via Manila. We strongly recommend arriving in Manila the day before rather than risking a same-day international connection.

Land & boat transfer

A resort representative meets you at Busuanga Airport for a shuttle and short boat crossing. Total travel time is about 45 minutes. Add flight details to your RSVP when you have them.

Where to stay

Everyone attending stays with us at Discovery Coron; it is the only accommodation on Dimakya Island. Breakfast is included. The resort will send attending guests a booking link closer to the wedding.

Good to know

Bring Philippine pesos for off-resort purchases; ATMs are limited. Wi-Fi can be patchy. Power is 220V with flat two-pin sockets. Travel insurance is recommended.

Things to do

Stay a little longer.

The island offers Sunrise and Sunset beaches, house-reef snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, a pool, beachfront yoga, volleyball, table tennis, billiards, darts and board games. Doing none of it is also a legitimate choice.

Premium Coron Island Tour

Private yacht, speedboat, or double-decker boat. From around PHP 7,000 per person with a large group.
